Tips
for Using PDF Files
GETTING THE READER
You
must have the free Acrobat Reader installed to view files in PDF format. Click on this link to
get the Reader.
ONE COMMON PROBLEM
If
you have the Reader installed but cannot open the files directly in your web
browser, try saving the file to your hard disk (in Windows, right-click and
choose Save As) and opening the saved copy.
This problem may occur if the browser PDF plug-in is not correctly
installed, or if the browser you are using does not support such a plug-in.
DISPLAY QUALITY
If you have a laptop or an
LCD monitor, you can adjust the quality of your display by using Adobe’s
CoolType feature. In the Reader, choose
Edit / Preferences / Display. Place a
checkmark to turn on CoolType and then adjust its display quality. This can make a big difference.
